THE VISIT

A Fortress to Explore

Over the past fifty years, extensive clearing and restoration work has made it possible to visit the castle.

The discoveries made on site are displayed in a small museum inside the castle: coins, pottery, glassware, weapons, pipes and other everyday objects. A unique example of adaptation to gunpowder artillery, featuring casemates, a boulevard, a covered passageway and five-metre-thick walls. From Easter to October, the fortress welcomes visitors, role-playing games, medieval re-enactment groups, family gatherings and community events.
